Today, the Earth will be at the most distant point in its orbit from the Sun in 2021 at 152,096,065 km, also known as #Aphelion. Opposite to Aphelion is Perihelion, when the Earth is closest to the Sun at approximately 147.1 million km experienced in January this year.

A quintessentially Earthly scene 🙌 Oxygen scatters sunlight making the sky blue; water reflects the sky; dust makes sunsets orange; after sunset our transparent atmosphere reveals the surrounding universe. Water, organic molecules and sunlight allow life to thrive.
