I’m sitting here this morning reflecting on this week at @JHCGPR , still trying to digest everything. It was a lot of difficult information as we discussed the multiple facets of gun violence and the implications of each. 1/
51 students representing 21 different states sat together and told their stories of being survivors, loved ones of victims, policy writers, and advocates for change. I won’t go into the information we learned (right now) but I’m confident when I say this: 2/
It will take us all. It was take each and every person to not only shift the narrative around gun violence, but to implement the necessary means to stop it before it happens. We can no longer rely on mediocre, reactive “solutions” to put an end to this epidemic. 3/
We must work together across communities, across cities, across states, to make substantive change and break this cycle of violence and death so that the innocent lives taken by gun violence become few and far between. 4/
