I'm giving a big talk about urban Karak in an hour or so! It's been a while so I hope I remember to cover everything, but also not witter on for too long 😅 Hopefully the cockies will oblige and there will be some outside the venue! I love being able to point to them outside.

If the neighbours were a bit closer & listening, they’d sometimes hear “Don’t you eat my begonias!” (To the king parrots & crimson rosellas) or more frequently - “Get off there you mongrels” (to the SC cockies, galahs & corellas that are on the little-bird feeders)!! 😬

The birds near ours were panting so much. I'm not sure they had the energy to fly down. Ended up stabbilng apple pieces onto branches up in the trees to help them.

We are being watched by 2 now.! Regular visitors to our garden. They seem to like our tree. And we like them visiting.

They are handsome fellows aren’t they? I’m afraid they’re not so welcome here though as they gobble up all the food & chew the veranda. I have a very lge terracotta plate/feeder downstairs which I fill: the deal is, it’s theirs (& the corellas, galahs) as long as they stay there!

Lovely vid, James! I should tweet some of my photos and vids. We even have a young brown goshawk using the water stations, including as a paddling pool when it's 40-ish degrees. Lots of other birds and a dozen or so roos too. :)

We live on 5 acres so they are welcome to our dam water and pool for that matter (which is next to the house).. people need to get over themselves & use aero guard to control mosquito bites rather than drive animals away. I also have a long history being pee’ed on rescuing 🐢😬😂
