In #Germany, the low fatality rate from #COVID19 is not a statistical artifact of super-high testing (350k/week), tho that helps. Terrific story by @kbennhold @nytimes points to intense patient monitoring to spot harbingers of decline b4 it's too late:https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/04/world/europe/germany-coronavirus-death-rate.html …

Not impressed. In Switzerland, we now have higher testing rates than Germany and for us, it's still way too low. Be aware that a German car producer, not far ago, cooked their tests with government help. Germany is behind in the epidemy. Covid kills in weeks, not in days.

Could we please also have some reporting on the range and combinations of treatments they are using? Thanks.

Hi @kbennhold, thanks for the great story @nytimes. Germany has done great work keeping the death rate low. A Telegraph article (3/23) mentioned 12% of Italy's deaths were directly by the virus. Rest by co-morbidities which I still think counts. Could this affect Germany's #s?

The US & Americans do not have the capacity (discipline) 2 do what Germany is doing. Spent a good amount of time there.

Testing, tracking and trust in their government. Lesson learned.
