Jews are not a blank slate to project Christianity onto. We are not projects. We are not your mission field. We do not want your “salvation.” We have our own long and proud and bloody history, a red ribbon of which unfurled on our Sabbath day. Christ had no place here.
It is beyond disgusting that the Vice President felt the need to summon a false prophet, a mockery of Judaism and Jews, to pretend to honor our dead. It is clear he wants to see our faith eliminated through conversion. And that is a form of violence in and of itself.

I'm in Arkansas. I worked with a guy who was a member of some fundamentalist sect here that actually claimed to be Jewish. They were really mostly looking forward to the end times.

There is a sect of Judaism called Messianic Jews which hold to Jewish beliefs and Christian beliefs as to the deity of Jesus. Totally in poor taste and a slap in the face of those who practice Judaism.
