    I’m sorry but I’m going to have to push back on this. I don’t think that your code on hair length is connected to your student performance. I applaud the success of you & your students. However I don’t applaud this. Why is long hair a problem?

    BH has received scrutiny regarding our high level of expectations on all things & dress code. Yet our African American students beat the state average on passing STAR by 22% & our overall passing scores are the highest in the state. Sounds like high expectations work!

    And, this isn’t in the article, but the same Senator (Dennis Kruse) proposed a while back that HS students should pass a test on civics and gov’t before they can graduate. News Flash - passing a test does not guarantee behavior, nor does it guarantee they will retain it postgrad.

    And requiring a Bible Studies class to be offered by every school? Also against separation of church and state. If anything, it should be a religious studies class where all religions are explore and not a specific religion.

    I’m not sure what would be the benefit of having a sign like this in each classroom other than to stroke one’s religious pride, but I wonder if this is where we should be spending our efforts in education? Oh, and this kinda goes against separation between church and state.

    Sigh. I guess I’ll harp on this till the mentality starts going in the other direction. Books are by a writer. Comic books are by a writer and artist (and if you really want to be respectful, they’re by the writer, artist, sometimes separate inker, colorist, and letterer). 1 of ?
