    Weather experienced in one 38nm sail: -sunny blue sky 80 degrees F and becalmed -sailing 8kts on a reach (blue sky) -thunder storm with 45kt wind -fog with less than a boat length visibility -45 degrees F with wind driven rain welcome to the north shore of Lake Superior.

    I had a wild ride here. Sustaining 10 often hitting 13. It was more excitement than I'd prefer for the first sail of the season, but noting broke so I'll take it!

    I'm back! Launched this morning and making a quick trip of the 45nm sail to my summer marina. AIS tells me I'll have a close encounter with a ship before I can even see it on the horizon.
