Fair to demand accountability from former Pres of Police Commission too? 5 years ago you bemoaned extreme racial disparities that were the consequence of SFPD's tactics yet took no action on recs like these. Your inaction perpetuated them. Why? (#noexcuses)https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2021/04/19/traffic-enforcement-is-broken-us-heres-how-we-can-fix-it/ …

If there were more Black people in SF than 6% of the population, Loftus would be de facto banned from public office forever. https://www.census.gov/quickfacts/sanfranciscocountycalifornia …

And of course, the racist SFPD texts - which Loftus and Suhr didn’t want punished https://www.cnn.com/2016/04/26/us/racist-texts-san-francisco-police-officer/index.html …

I am unaware of any evidence that Loftus didn't want the texting officers punished. SFPD seemed to sit on the info & only acted when the feds forced their hands. I'm VERY aware they failed to punish cops who rec'd the texts but didn't report 'em, reinforcing code of silence.

Well, the level of inaction suggests she didn’t care, right? She ensured no accountability. She wouldn’t even make Suhr post his calendar online, which could have shown whether he was spending adequate time trying to minimize racism and bias. http://mpetrelis.blogspot.com/2015/?m=1

Fair point. Care in words - in sentiment - but not matched by deeds that are proportionate to the level of the crisis with racist policing. Again, a fundamental diff between TRULY progressive prosecutors and those who talk a good game but shy away from fights w/ cop unions.

Hey
@nxtcat I thought these articles might provide more detail on my record standing up the POA. They targeted me with TV ads and then sued to block the reforms I led. We won.https://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/2016/12/21/shooting-at-moving-vehicles-banned-in-new-sfpd-use-of-force-policy/ …1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -
