The march begins with a “Fuck Ted Wheeler,” segues into “No cops! No prisons! Total abolition!”pic.twitter.com/0jfzHS5zxH
The march is interrupted by the Unified Task Force of Multnomah County and the Oregon State Police. Their announcement drowns out the speaker for a moment as they advise the crowd “not to engage in criminal activity.”pic.twitter.com/lqfOqVEmHn

“Those people don’t want to march with us!” the leader of the march said, alluding to conflict between the two. The Defend Democracy group walked up Naito, and it looked like they were about to join up. But then they hit a right into this Count Every Vote rally.pic.twitter.com/yoWTH6vGcO
Local activist Linneas—who runs the local art therapy events—gets on the mic at the Count Every Vote rally. He introduces himself and demands that those waiting in the street join the rally. “We have to come together,” he says. At least half of those in the street comply.
Across the way, a heated circle of activists discuss what to do for the night. The leader of the march that began in the North Park Blocks says he wasn’t told where the march would end. He asks the crowd to put aside whatever they thought would happen and give the rally a chance.
