One of the recent "we need to talk" events (at least one) included personal abuse (with an image) directed at me. Is that also not intimidation...? And they say they want a "debate". BTW I have never demonstrated outside these events.https://vimeo.com/265154796

I think its nasty. I think debate is possible. Education is possible.
-
Problem is that the only debate that is possible is trans people explaining why the unevidenced assertions of the anti-trans activists are wrong. Pretty much all there is. They get to shout their claims from the media and we get to respond on twitter or our blogs. Asymmetrical.
-
There is a clear distinction between saying someone has large hands and bad nail varnish, and hitting someone (Tara Wood), stealing and publishing private data (mumsnet intern) or a group of masked men physically blocking a womans way and trapping her in a stairwell
-
Or a gang of people screaming at a woman until she is forced to leave her own picket. As you are aware Natacha, you have very vocal and powerful spokepeople and supporters, eg owen jones, Paris Lees is never out of magazines, lily Madigan has had loads of coverage
-
We cld write a very long list of all the supporters you have in media. People have been scared to speak about trans issues due to false accusations of transphobia and intimidation like that above -that has been going on for ages but you only now comment on because its undeniable
-
I’m blocked by Natacha. I believe it happened when I pointed out that every time Natacha saw someone posting anything not agreeable Natacha would appear and tag in TERFblocker. It’s interesting how so many TRAs want women blocked and not heard
-
Oh and wasn’t there allegedly something about fiddling with Wiki and feminist entries?

The anti fa lot think they're helping the trans cause. It hasn't helped one bit.
-
indeed Charlie. Not a good look....

@SistersUncut who supported the trans activist found guilty of assaulting Maria Maclachan a couple of weeks back, were also involved in this

Be aware of what younger trans people - many of them leading lives of extreme precarity - feel is at stake. What these meetings are using free speech to discuss is essentially the stripping away of all legal protections from trans people.
-
There is considerable overlap between the various anti-trans groups and it's clear by now that opposing minor bureaucratic reform of the GRA is code for abolishing the GRA altogether and the pro-trans provision of the Equalities Act.
-
Were any other group being asked to acquiesce quietly in discussion of the removal of their rights, would you really be expecting them not to be angry?
-
I'm not clear btw why you assume that it's only trans women that are angry. Trans guys and other trans people feel just as threatened by all this stuff.
-
It's just that for obvious propaganda purposes it's more useful for anti-trans feminists to focus their attack on trans women. And to pretend that few of the demonstrators are cis feminist allies like
#SistersUncut -
I don't even know that anti-trans feminists lie. Since they believe that they instantly know who is trans, and that only trans women oppose them, and people are wearing masks... You probably shouldn't assume they're right about who is who though.
-
Christ, that's a whole word salad of nonsense and DARVO just there. Did you do any thinking before you posted or just punch angrily at your keyboard while spewing TRA tropes? I know plenty of trans people who want no part in this new activism and feel threatened by it

And anti trans campaigners (trans exclusionary radical feminists) intimidating trans women by placing us on sex offender websites if we dare to speak out. Yet no one shares about that. All we hear is about angry trans people... https://maleviolence.wordpress.com/2013/04/25/tara-hewitt/ …
-
So you think this type of intimidation is perfectly acceptable?
-
No intimidation is acceptable but TERFs aren't committing suicide over it are they like trans people? I've been bullied harrassed and bullied by TERFs just for standing up for trans rights - is that acceptable?
-
Please don't use the abusive term "terf" to refer to women who voice concerns about impact of trans activism on women's rights. We are concerned about conflation of sex and gender and denial of woman as a biological sex category We are being bullied doxxed abused and threatened.
-
You think trans people aren't being bullied, doxxed, abused, and threatened? More people now understand that the "inclusive" movement of feminism is only inclusive if you look, sound, and act a certain way. It's like a pathetic high school clique. Pankhurst would be ashamed.
-
Not at all. I am well aware that trans people suffer discrimination and are an oppressed group. I support trans rights. I oppose conflation of sex and gender and denial of woman as biological sex category. I include ALL human females in my feminism -from all backgrounds/groups.
-
It certainly doesn't come across that way. I may have read one tweet wrong but when we're getting into multiple tweets and it's all the same... Something is definitely up.
-
You may have jumped to the conclusion that because I oppose the conflation of sex and gender, and reject the notion that woman is anything other than a biological sex category, I must be anti-trans. Not at all. I support the rights of all oppressed groups. Including females.
