I figured out a pretty good kid trick: if I put a bunch of toys away and bring them back out a few weeks later, my toddler thinks it’s Christmas

Even better: when your parents totally ignore instructions to only give one present at Xmas and your kiddos get overwhelmed, put the extras in basement and bring them out during quarantine!

This is basically the only way I can keep my cat interested in her toys lol

We have some boxes that get pulled out every 6-9 months and the kids can take stuff out if they put stuff in. Same experience as a robbery in a toys'r'us but less hurtful to the home economy and garbage bin :) This works best with multiple age groups, though.

we have a toy tray (out with toys to play with) and a toy drawer (closed with toys being "refreshed"). Switch content every 3 days. Baby <3 s it.
