The new majority won’t limit its response to mass shootings to thoughts and prayers. We'll listen to gun violence survivors, not gun company lobbyists. will release the grip of wealthy special interests on Congress & make Congress work for the people.

Universal background checks are a very good first step toward building a system that will make firearms significantly harder to get. They are just the beginning though -- we have to fight for much tougher policies (like licensing!) that will help build a future with *fewer guns*

Something that we can’t lose sight of: the Violence Against Women Act expired almost two weeks ago when the government shutdown began. It’s shameful to withhold this critical support for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Congress must re-authorize it immediately.

Andrea Kelly called like it is... R. Kelly was illiterate, he couldn't have done it alone... He assembled an entire team to help him terrorize Black girls. They were basically a domestic terrorist organization.

This is my first TED Talk. I spent weeks fretting over what to say until I realized that I could just tell the truth. This work is hard and tiring. And its often unrewarding. But it is the most necessary endeavor. I'm dedicating this to other survivors and activists.

Eric was a 14-yo boy living in Princeton, MN. He loved Legos & riding his bike. He was murdered by another child. The adult who left guns accessible to children will walk with probation.

Celebrating Senator ’s re-election with Senator & other supporters. The NRA must not be happy that he won by 20 points. He consistently & unapologetically counters the NRA rhetoric. So happy that he will continue to represent Newtown.
