Testimony after testimony of public health officials describing how @CACorrections refused to quickly take action & continued their obviously terrible practice of moving incarcerated people & staff betw prisons, incl ICE detention, where no one has control to protect themselves.
The deaths inside of California prisons were preventable. Public health officials, families, and organizers said again and again early in the pandemic that we needed a plan for quick and safe release to avoid a crisis. @GavinNewsom didn't act. Refused to act.
