How so? Because usually its focused on "how they can recover and rejoin society" and unfortunately that's very delegitimizing the suffering they caused and will cause again. My assailants definitely don't deserve that.

so will you look a survivor in the face and tell them that despite the pain they have gone through, you believe their assailant deserves to walk free- capable of committing the same atrocities yet again? and that their suffering alone was simply "not enough"?
We can affirm & uplift survivors and the pain of their experience, but NOT by legitimizing a system that also targets and punishes survivors. It also seems you're not listening to the survivors who have actually experienced criminalization precisely bc they were survivors.

Telling me that I didn't deserve to be raped is common sense. I'm asking what the consequences will be for my rapist. As a victim, I demand justice. What will you then do to make sure my rapist pays consequences and never touches another human being? How will you prevent it?
