@LADWP has refused to provide water to this family for the past 7 months because they claim the family needs to pay off the past tenant's debt! The family has provided LADWP a letter from the landlord and a lease, proving their move-in date w/ no success. Now we're in a pandemic.
The family has children & was forced to turn on the water themselves to try to care for & protect themselves. They want to pay for the water they've used since they began renting the unit, but @LADWP refuses to work w/ them to find an affordable, fair, safe solution #Moms4Housing
When the family went to the @LADWP office today to try yet again, @LADWP staff specifically told the family to NOT contact the media, while still refusing to set up the new account & turn on the water in the midst of a public health crisis. #COVID19 #WaterIsLife #ThisShouldBeEasy
