We see repeatedly that DV has lethal risks, that gender-based violence literally kills, but the criminal legal system punishes survivors for trying to live. We must affirm the lives & self-determination of all survivors by demanding an end to the criminalization of survivors.
We demand the immediate release of survivors of gender-based violence who're imprisoned for survival actions, including: self-defense, “failure to protect,” migration, removing children from abusive people, being coerced as an "accomplice" & securing resources needed to live.
