there’s a new Pepe AI cryptocurrency and the project includes a bot that will generate Pepes based on text input. so far the investors are mostly making naked girl Pepes for jackoff purposes
The following media includes potentially sensitive content. Change settings
In the state of Pennsylvania, a judge allowed a local "Temple of Satan" to hold a "Satanic club after classes" at a public school. The judge referred to the First Amendment, which prohibits restricting any religion.
Yann's unfamiliarity with prior literature is clearly on display, here. Whether an intelligence being "submissive" suffices to make it easy-to-steer is a primary focus of my 1.8M-word BDSM decision theory D&D fic, which Yann apparently refuses to read twitter.com/ylecun/status/…
This is a great provocation because it’s like educational disinformation. It’s obviously satire, but people who take the outrage bait and QRT it are now primed to recognize the pattern of this PR strategy when it gets deployed more discreetly by studios
I think I speak for everyone in the creative community when I say that greedy writers' profits aren't worth as much as the joy superheroes bring to people all over the world. So WGA, end your strike now and give the MCU back to its rightful owners: the fans. #enduniongreed
The real reason replacing writers with AI would never work in the long term is that, left to its own devices, the executive class lacks even the creative drive to make coherent demands of machines. Remember that this how they think human brains work.
If history is a precedent, then the media is about to write about the WGA strike from the POV of the inconvenienced consumer to stoke anti-union sentiment. Don’t be suckered in. Workers’ dignity and safety are more important than Your Stuff. Always. Stand with the union.
It’s funny how people (including me) are tired of seeing viral AI content that is just a fan mash-up of 2 things but “unfortunately” sometimes it just hits and people are ok with it
Joe Russo says AI will be used to “engineer storytelling” in movies.
“You could save the AI on your streaming platform. ‘I want a rom-com starring my avatar and Marilyn Monroe's avatar,’ and it renders a story with dialogue that mimics your voice.”

The financial model in Hollywood right now doesn’t seem to work for anyone — writers are underpaid and streamers aren’t generating profits. So I support the writers here — but there aren’t any excess profits to spread around, so I fear that less content is part of any agreement.
AI art is not a viable replacement for jobs that the Silicon circlejerkers would have you believe, and anybody who tries it is going to learn very quickly why. There will come a time when we recognize SD as merely a tool for very specific situations, and we will all collectively
An artist who has a 6+ year backlog and a youtube channel full of speed paints has been harassed for “submitting ai art” because a few people looked at it and got vibes I guess. Be prepared for way more innocent artists to be harassed as AI paranoia rapidly escalates
There have been multiple accusations that the cover art used for our recent issue is AI generated. We have removed and replaced the art while we investigate. The artist did sign a contract that included a statement that the work was not generated or assisted.
anyone who tells you that AI-generating news articles is going to save media is either a grifter or a fucking idiot. “pivot to video” all over again lol
the way big companies are immediately putting all their eggs in the AI basket and choosing to completely throw real people under the bus in favor of it is really sickening to me lol twitter.com/alissamarie/st…
Okay i did not want to have to be overly didactic but we are about to see a shitload of intimidation from people in the media saying that AI can do anything magically to replace writers in a way that will strategically make people doom spiral and that was the point of this post
Amnesty International is using AI-generated images to protest police violence in Colombia. While I fully support the cause, I think the means are profoundly wrong. Using computer-generated photorealistic illustrations not only blurs the line between fact and fiction ... 1/3 https://twitter.com/Amnesty_Norge/status/1651879572944691201…
it’s so funny how if you want to see how normal people are responding to a popular tweet, you now have to scroll thru 100 of the worst posts of all time first
