I’m proud to stand in solidarity with 1,600 of my peers, and the hundreds who took to the streets, to demand that divest all of its $1.8 billion endowment from fossil fuel companies. We deserve a future that invests in clean, equitable, and just outcomes for us all.

Dozens of students block traffic on a city street as they march with a yellow banner that reads, “DIVEST NOW”.
Dozens of students protesting outside the GW President’s office at 1918 F Street NW.
Three students lock arms as they sit on the steps leading to the GW President’s Office, facing the street. One student’s poster reads, “DIVEST”. Other students are visible behind them with cameras and megaphones.

This is disgusting. Does think having cops violently assault students is an acceptable way to respond to students peacefully demanding fossil fuel divestment? This is just the latest example of our university’s abject failure of moral leadership.
