The kicker is the 65+ category that can often decide elections since seniors have more time to vote. By this metric Markey has the youth vote and enough seniors to win. Let's hope it stays.

At one time, Kennedy was ahead 20 pts in the polls. Markey is definitely rallying...but all MA voters can vote by mail this year. It may turn out like KY, too little too late. A late rally doesn’t matter if the majority of ppl have already mailed their absentee ballots.

These numbers remind me of Bernie vs Pete in Iowa. Far too many neolibs in the 45+ demographic. The same sh*t just happens over and over because the older generations have been propagandized so hard in to believing the lie of the "third way" and centrism .

It is the group whose oldest folks problably had their first elections in 1978, and whose youngest would’ve been voting age starting with the Clinton coalition democrats (if not just disaffected republicans like they wanted from the regan bush years) so that tracks on this.

Markey holding the 65+ demographic speaks volumes to how even that generation views not so much the name, but the systems that have allowed political dynasties to exist and thrive in this country. Or it could be that his policies and ideas are better. I dunno.
