Today's plan has 2 parts:
1. To invest in 21st century sustainable infrastructure
2. To advance justice & equity while we do so

We previously gave Biden a 15% on Environmental Justice on our
#GreenNewDeal scorecard b/c he lacked details. Now he's filled in gaps, commiting to 40% of all investments going to frontline communities, establishing a new division in the DOJ, & more:https://joebiden.com/environmental-justice/ …Show this thread -
Before the
#GreenNewDeal,@TheDemocrats tip-toed around the climate crisis, buying into the GOP lie that we had to choose between good jobs & our environment. Now, everyone knows that acting on climate change is the biggest jobs & economic opportunity in history. We did that.Show this thread -
This plan isn't perfect, & there are still gaps and places to push, but it's a major step forward, & parts are more ambitious than what
@BernieSanders ran on in 2016, or@JayInslee championed in 2020. We'll have our work cut out for us in making this action a day 1 priority.Show this thread -
What we’ve shown is that movements can change the terrain of what's possible & the common sense of society. But millions are without jobs. Storms are battering our coasts right now. The summer is getting hot. Folks can’t breathe. Roll up your sleeves, & let’s keep it moving.

It's not like they don't personally contribute to both sides of the aisle to ensure favoritism. Require that they give the lump sum of those contributions to the government--since it's public record that they've been gaming the elections for decades, it seems appropriate.
