    None of the promises made in the are possible without workforce. It is therefore essential that we have more specialists in the care of older people and that non-specialists have training to enable them to care for our ageing population

    Statistically significant association of dementia risk & exposure to anticholinergic antidepressants, antiparkinson meds,antipsychotics,bladder antimuscarinics & antiepileptics-suggests these drugs be prescribed with caution in middle-aged & older adults.

    Useful doc here from on medicine <-> smoking interactions

    Bit of Twitter happening here about clozapine. I didn’t know much about it until recently. It’s a very complicated drug. So beware, and take advice! Also, double caution, you might not change the meds, but if you stop the person smoking, it can all go belly up regardless.

    Main prob w MCA overuse... We keep asking the wrong Q ❎ Q: Shld we give MCAs or not to improve adherence?➡️Closed, Limiting ✅ Q: What is causing a person to be non adherent?➡️Open, ✅ Q: What support shld we offer to improve adherence problem identified?

    New summary from on the use of multi-compartment compliance aids i.e. blister packs. Lack of evidence of their impact on adherence, or their safety versus dispensing original packs. Not a one size fits all solution for patients.
