    NEW: Trump administration intends to “detain families together during the pendency of immigration proceedings.” One immigration attorney representing separated children tells me that could mean *indefinite detention* “given the backlog” of cases.

    New: DOJ filed papers in Flores (where there is a 1997 settlement limiting immigration detention of kids) saying they interpret the recent injunction re: separations to mean they can detain families together for longer periods AND still comply with Flores

    Mabel Gonzales has been organizing separated mothers from inside an ICE processing center in El Paso. She's been in detention for 9 months w/o her kids. Trump first tested family separation here last summer. Families still haven't been reunited. My latest:

    From the bottom of my black little heart, I hope everyone who told me to calm down before the election gets eaten alive by fire ants

    My 5-yr-old client can’t tell me what country she is from. We prepare her case by drawing pictures with crayons of the gang members that would wait outside her school. Sometimes she wants to draw ice cream cones and hearts instead. She is in deportation proceedings alone.
