I know Trump eventually reneged on a deal for the wall and DACA in January; that doesn’t mean it hurts the Dems to try again

But this time go big for a pressing humanitarian reason; give him the wall and get DACA + Flores fix + MUCH more funding for border/ detention facilities & processing asylum cases

Preventing illegal immigration is not racist, not white supremacist, not bigotry; it’s integral to any democracy functioning; it’s a core function of government. Slowing massive demographic change is not fascist; it's conservative.

I’m also an immigrant who knows firsthand how brutal, terrifying and traumatizing this process can be; which is why i believe in working with Republicans to reform it, as we did with HIV ban.

This question might sound troll-ish, but I mean it earnestly: If preventing illegal immigration is "a core function of government," why is it mentioned nowhere in the Constitution? (Congress is given power to set rules for naturalization, but not power over who comes here.)

Why would "slowing massive demographic change" be desirable with respect to immigration if one is not afraid of outsiders?

You're trying to cure cancer with proper diet. This isn't about immigration. It's about rallying nationalism & it needs to be fought relentlessly. Look to Israeli example--what they've done with Sudanese & Eritreans is not about security, democracy or core functions. Wake up.

Oh yes, it is racist. Trump himself said he prefers people from Norway over Haiti, which he called a s _ _ _ hole. The primary reason Trump was elected is to keep America white, which won't happen

Go to the root cause: economic and political instability in Central America. Address these as a foreign/national security policy issue at the source. Long term a helluva lot cheaper than a wall with significant economic benefits here and in Central America.
