Why do American newspapers have live-updating news feeds about a virus that has killed zero Americans, but no constantly-updated feed about drivers killing 100 Americans a day? Should we call it Corollavirus? Would that help?

I don't think many people really understand how important it is to be a part of a community that accepts all of who you are. Especially for those historically/continually marginalized. No need for justifications, empty chatter, and/or constantly explaining yourself. To just be.

The best part of my day was speed mentoring new students @Transport_gc. They're working on apps, with machine learning, environmental issues, modernizing HR, marine safety and policy... so much opportunity!

Sometimes my kid wails that he needs help with Legos. My inclination was to consult on structure, add pieces. This always made him cry. I finally figured out that the "help" he needs is for me to sit quietly next to him while he figures it out. And isn't that what we all want?

Safe spaces aren’t defined and determined by the people who create the space, but rather by the people who attend. You can say you wish to create a safer space, but for many of us, no space will ever be safe. And what’s safer for one will be unsafe for another.

Favorite part about having a scripted and failure tolerant deployment process is that when a deployment fails it's no big deal . I've had plenty of "Oh crap! All hands on deck!" situations in the past. And now it's just, "Meh, press the button and see if it fails again?"
