It should be easy to know when you’ve found the official YouTube channel of a creator, artist, brand, or public figure. So in late October, we’re updating what it means for channels to be “Verified” w/ new eligibility criteria & a new look. Details → https://yt.be/help/3QfB pic.twitter.com/JXOvMbkbns

It's very bad update. You can apply these changes for new creators but applying for old creators is just worst. There is no clear criteria, how we will know that our channel is full fill or not that criteria??

The old system “verified” that a channel had 100k subs, but the badge itself wasn’t meant to be an award, just to help viewers find official channels. As YouTube has grown, we needed to update our criteria to help people find the official channel. Hope this helps!

But bigger channels and their fans considered it a reward and a badge of hard work. Ripping it away from creators without even talking to them... the very people who MAKE you the money is kinda shit don’t ya think
