What @TheIndPanel has offered is a concrete agenda for action and reforms, both for you here at the WHA and beyond.

2/ We are in the middle of a preventable global crisis and we must all use this moment to take the necessary political decisions. We need leadership of heads of state and government and bringing in the strengths of #civilsociety and the private sector. #WHA74pic.twitter.com/gmnyMuCgXc
3/ We urge Member States to use the months towards the WHA Special Session to act on decisions the that the Panel has laid out in regard to reforms for a stronger and more independent WHO and the #PandemicTreaty
4/ We have also called for #UNGASS on #COVID. The purpose of this is to complement the work taking place here at the WHA, to secure political agreement for a roadmap for a strengthened international system at large, including the establishment of a #GlobalHealth Threats Council
5/ The role of Council is to maintain political commitment to #pandemic preparedness on an ongoing basis, promote maximum co-operation & collective action across the international system, monitor progress towards goals & targets set by WHO, hold actors accountable, & support $
6/ Regarding #vaccines, we simply need to see more doses shared & faster. The Panel gave the world a target of 1 billion doses to be redistributed by 1 Sept, as well as the need to see tech transfer, voluntary licensing and regional manufacturing. There is no time to wait.
7/ @TheIndPanel has delivered its report. Now is the time for implementation. We will be monitoring implementation of the recommendations, and if it is of interest, we look forward to being available to help with the important work ahead.
