Launch industry didn't think landing rockets was impossible, they didn't do it because it would make launches more expensive. So when Musk has SpaceX incarcerate investor capital to land rockets, that's a bad thing b/c that capital could have been invested elsewhere.

See the thing is he put the ideas to use. He made landing and reusing rockets bot viable and practical. He’s made electric car viable and practicable, as well as profitable. He may be using other people’s ideas, but he has also developed them and made them applicable to reality.

So a high-achiever prefers to risk his wealth and pour his energy into wildly ambitious ventures, that generally advance humanity towards a better future, but you're annoyed that his work isn't totally original? Has anything he's accomplished negatively impacted you somehow?
