If you're one of the many people shouting down one another on the internet about SF DA Chesa Boudin, at least now, @sfchronicle has compiled exhaustive charging data to fuel your (hopefully, respectful) debates!https://twitter.com/susieneilson/status/1456353759253065744 …
Comparing Boudin's performance to the equally feckless Gascon tells us almost nothing at all.

If the DA office brought just 23 cases to trial between Jan. 1, 2020 through March 1, 2021 (out of 6000? 8000? felony arrests in that period), don't you think stats Nielson is reporting may perhaps be missing important context. It's hard to see it as anything other than puff.

Additionally, the city had almost 800 fatal overdoses in 2020. Where is the evidence of this massacre in Nielson's selective reporting?

In his last year — when he was pretty much checked out — Gascon tried 294 cases and won 216. He won 11 of 13 murder cases. In the same time period, and even an extended time period well into 2021, Boudin tried 23 cases and won 16. None of those cases were homicides.
