A lot of people seem to think that “vote with your guts” means I want you to vote for someone you think wouldn’t ne a good president, or that it means you shouldn’t consider whether they’d be good. It doesn’t.

I’m voting for Warren but I didn’t exactly get the sense that, once Obama had won the nomination, most people thought he had no chance of winning the general. And isn’t “voting with your guts” what got us Bush bc people “just liked him more” and “wanted to have a beer with him”?

All those voters who are like “I agree with Warren but I just find her annoying / don’t like her voice” — aren’t they also voting with their guts?

Warren and Sanders both seem like the right options for this moment in history. I won't be mad if it's not my first choice, as long as it's one of these two.

I prefer their resumes to my gut. America's increasing preference for candidates with no elective experience is not a bandwagon I'll be jumping on no matter how popular it gets.
