As a person who took *9 years* to get correctly diagnosed the idea that healthcare is tied to diagnosed disability or employment in my state is terrifying. I'm completely dependent on my spouse for insurance. I'm fine, but everyone in my situation is not.

My disability hearing is coming up and I'm terrified because i have vague diagnosis like fibro and CFS. Nothing with clear positive on a piece of paper that shows how bad it is.

But Stuart what made you think it would be hell originally ?

I was literally taught in elementary school that healthcare is scarce and when it's socialized no one can get enough and more people die. That doesn't work because now everyone under 40 is in international groups and can just ask a Canadian.

From a pure self-interest perspective (not societal good), it's good for every person to have affordable health care. In non-pandemic times, too. There are a number of ways other countries have achieved this. But none without government involvement.
