The service inherently appeals only to people who both a) Care extremely deeply about their posts being seen, and b) Make posts that Inherently unappealing 2 other twitter Users, Since people with appealing interesting funny not weird posts would be able to naturally grow an audience on the platform if they want. So pretty much every single blue check is a hyper online weirdo who is deeply bad at posting despite being obsessed with Twitter metrics

To be clear, I’m not a HUMANS GOOD ALGORITHMS BAD pitchfork-waver. There’s just so much music, and anything that helps me find things to fall in love with is welcome. Playlists, friends, algorithms, radio DJs, randomly-caught support acts, critics/reviews! I need them all :)

Have been thinking about this all day and zig-zagging back and forth. With 100k tracks released every day, reviews and critics still great as a spur to listen to something that you may not have found otherwise. Discovery can’t and shouldn’t just be left to playlists…
