New in iOS 12: AvatarKit comes to iPad. Still requires a TrueDepth camera to do face tracking, though, i.e. an iPad with Face ID
Conversation
I checked iOS 12 beta 3 firmwares for iPad Air and iPad Pro 10.5; neither has /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/AvatarKit.framework. Am I looking at the wrong place? Or is this Simulator and you somehow fixed rendering?

It’s in the dyld cache and in the Simulator; you need to embed its resources in your app bundle (take from the X ipsw), and then it just works as it should

iPad with Face ID confirmed, but the question is will it have a notch? 🤔

I made a Swift Playground that unlocks the Memoji editor on iPads on iOS 12. (no face tracking, but editing Memoji is the fun part, anyways.)

iPad with Face ID will have to be orientation agnostic, which makes me wonder why the iPhone isn’t?

I really hope we see 11.6” and 13.3” or something close to that, and not just one size fits all iPad again.
The iPad needs to get bigger.
Give me the 15.6” iPad Pro and the 27” iPad Studio. 😎
