You could try 4000000000000341, which will allow you to attach it to a customer but will fail upon charging. If you're looking at responding to webhooks, you can also just fire any event for testing ( https://stripe.com/docs/testing#webhooks … ). 1/2

Hopefully one of those options helps, but if there's anything else we can help with then we can definitely get into more detail over email :) https://support.stripe.com/email

this is great, thanks
@stripe . One more question. What is the difference between id and plan here? Can I store the ID in my db or do I need to retrieve it every time?pic.twitter.com/mRUlXPuU3V

You can store any IDs locally if that works best for your integration! For clarity, the subscription item ID refers to the specific subscriptionItem you're trying to update ( https://stripe.com/docs/api#subscription_items … ). The plan refers to the plan object described here: https://stripe.com/docs/api#plan_object … .

So each subscription id (ex - 'sub_49ty476H20z6a') has children items with item ids? I need a subscription id and item id to updgrade users current subscription? What kind of items could exist under a subscription, basically just subscriptions to multiple plans?

Probably easiest to answer over email rather than trying to fit detail into a tweet :) Want to drop us a line directly here so we can go into depth on this one? https://support.stripe.com/email
