Hey Erik—thanks for sharing this with us. Are there any other fields that generate this message? Would you mind also sharing how you initially put information into the form. We appreciate the flag here.
This was the "Activate Your Account" page, at https://dashboard.stripe.com/account/details/v2 …. A refresh showed an error, and then another refresh said that it had been successfully submitted. All fields were entered manually, and many of them (half?) complained that they were empty when not.
Upon returning, the form was presented again, and seemed to work. I think the problem is related to how validation for each field is async with the server, and there must have been a connectivity issue that got me into a state that could not be recovered from.
