To me, this is exemplary of the DNA of Stripe today, of its borderless mission to increase the GDP of the Internet, and the statement captures many layers of how we operate, innovate and celebrate:

We operate increasingly decentralized as our economic infrastructure is being built in all parts of the world. What continues to amaze me is how we keep doing it in a coordinated way. Our investments in building out a remote hub for sure contribute to this competitive strength.

This in turn allows us to acquire unique local-regional-global user intimacy which helps drive our innovation. We can pattern match on the shape of our users’ challenges with a growing toolbox of solutions, often employed in geographies different from where these were acquired.

And that’s why we celebrate diversity in the broadest sense of the word, among our users as well as our colleagues, whom I both dearly love. Stripe is a special place, with its biggest challenges still ahead of us. Close to one year in, my excitement is bigger than it ever was.

seeing that stripe hires remote is awesome, but seeing "remote in north america only" is kind of weird. most people are not in NA and most of them can't even reallocate to NA :( (also, i gotta say stripe has the best API documentation i've ever used <3)

Our remote positions are in North America for now, however, we're looking at expanding remote work beyond North America in the future. Check out this blog article that shares a bit about our remote hub: https://stripe.com/blog/remote-hub . More to come!

Do you think about expanding your remote work to Europe? Really decent developers here. I think the time difference can also be handled.

Yes, we're looking at expanding remote work globally in the future. No plans to share just yet though—we'll keep you posted!
