Respect to all who walked out - especially those whose editorial line has been pro government. The Tory assumption is that everyone has picked a side in the culture war and that those they care about, won’t care about this sort of thing... and so everyone else can get stuffed...

It's a really sad and emotional time for us and yet, somehow we have to face the future to minimise the damage of . It's our task to pressurise this Brexit govt to put aside their rhetoric, tell the truth, and do what's best for the UK.

The put in 17 amendments to secure a People’s Vote. Labour refuse to support. The form a Remain Alliance to stop the Tories. Labour refuse to join. The propose a Tory/Lab MP for interim PM in GNU. Corbyn rebuffs. Yet this is somehow our fault. 😒🙄

Now the real negotiations over the future relationship between UK and EU are going to start. Putting a barrier down the Channel in any form into Europe will create massive problems for our car industry & complex supply chains. My interview with ⬇️

‘EU reneges on deal’ turns out to mean ‘EU maintains its longstanding position to which the UK agreed in the Political Declaration’. Not quite the same thing.

I thought one of the only actual tangible benefits of Brexit would be that I wouldn't have to see anymore, and since we've left we're just seeing MORE of him! 🤨

My final speech in EP: India Citizenship Amendment Act, seriously flawed: discriminates on religious grounds, is contrary to ’s secular constitution & obligations under international law. Danger of many Muslims being deemed stateless without documentation.

Arguments over, it is my view that the case for leaving the EU has been lost on every ground, except an ill-considered wish to be vaguely 'independent'. And yet we leave, and so I am today ashamed of this, my precious country, which has become immeasurably reduced.

Today is a dark day for many in the country and in our movement. But progressive and pro-European voices will not be silenced. Tomorrow we regroup and keep campaigning for the outward-looking, internationalist country we love.

Just over a year ago ⁦⁩ visited Norton Motorcycles. He called it a “great business” that would thrive when UK leaves the EU. Norton went into administration two days ago. CEO claims “uncertainties over Brexit” were a major factor in the company’s failure.
