Niche joke - but who even knew that Nod had written an account of his time drumming for The Fields of the Nephilim?? Perhaps it's the collected diary entries that got published in the NME? Where Carl bullies him all the time!!

And then when I get called, they discover that their instrument for looking into ears needs batteries. They then leave me alone whilst they go and get some more...whilst leaving themselves logged on to their medical records system. Mini-rant over!! Feel better now!

Mini-rant!! Had GPs appointment for 8am today - earlier than I would have liked but hey, got one within 48 hours!! Get there a little early but hey - that's fine! GP actually wanders into the surgery at 8:15...so already running late, then has to get ready, another 10 minutes

I hope the TTRPG industry doesn't just make a sigh of relief and continues with the plans to put in place a proper open gaming licence. And it takes the long-term view that it needs to be wary of the 100 ton gorilla.

I'm loving playing Dune with et al - and it'll never get old when he looks shocked and says to me 'But you seem such a nice person..' after my character has done something terrible! I'm now wondering if I'm going to get written up for an academic paper!!

Just my normal discussion at work about 99.999% SLAs - your systems cannot guarantee that and even though historical figures show it has been achieved - you were lucky...you might not continue to be so.

Just as a matter of interest - I checked to see if there were Morrissey tix available for the Hammersmith gig - I mean they've been on sale for over an hour. And yes, there still are tix... *GOOD*!!

Seems like lots of TTRPG companies are stepping up with their community licenses etc but can I suggest that people read the licenses etc and try to understand them. Make sure you aren't swapping into a situation that could be equally vulnerable to a corporate bad actor.
This is a must read from Cory, I've been waiting for his analysis & he doesn't disappoint!

Last week, @Gizmodo's @lincodega caught a killer scoop - a leake Hasbro's plan to revoke the decades-old #OpenGamingLicense, which subsidiary @Wizards promulgated as an allegedly #open sandbox for people seeking to extend #DungeonsAndDragons: gizmodo.com/dnd-wizards-of 1/

A remixed version of David Trampier's 'Eye of Moloch,' the cover of the first edition of the AD&D Player's Handbook. It has been altered so the title reads 'Advanced Copyright Fuckery. Unclear on the Concept. That's Just Not How Licenses Work. No, Seriously.' The eyes of the idol have been replaced by D20s displaying a critical fail '1.' Its chest bears another D20 whose showing face is a copyright symbol.

Hmmm - this is quickly turning into the year when we're going to see how vulnerable our IT infrastructures are and the impact of underinvestment in the underlying systems during the push for innovation.

Laughing that Bundle of Holding have a non-OGL bundle!! This is looking like a smart marketing move by WOTC - for everyone else!! There are other games!!

Hmmm - if PIL with John Lydon end up representing Ireland at the Eurovision...I do think Peter Gabriel needs to step forward for the UK!!

Wow - just defined traditional British Panto as adult content.

Three bills just dropped in Arizona that would define "people dressing opposite of their biological sex at birth and exaggerating their gender" as "adult content." It says they can only do it in strip clubs, not before noon on Sundays. It threatens them with criminal records.

Finished watching 'The Witcher: Terry's Chocolate Blood Orange' - enjoyed it, it wasn't deep, it wasn't clever and there wasn't enough Michelle Yeoh. I'm liking Lenny Henry's reinvention of himself as a fantasy character-actor!!

Reading 'Guards, Guards!' again - not sure how many times I've read it but it is wonderful; there's such humour and humanity in it...I think the Guards books should be on any reading list as an example of what humanity and tolerance should be.

So Peter Gabriel has some new music out; it's a pity that it sounds like a Eurovision entry sung by an earnest but pretty boy from a Scandiwegian country!! Perhaps the UK should enter it this year!!
Just finished 'The Satsuma Complex' by Bob Mortimer; I do have mixed feelings about these celebrity novels - considering how hard it is for writers to get published. But I loved it - the main character is obviously an alt-reality version of Bob - there's so much humanity

got mostly used to this idea. Perhaps, we in the West need to embrace this as well; perhaps in the long-term writing needs to become focused on single season dramas? A multi-season story needs to become the exception? I've felt this in books as well, not every

Pondering the Netflix dilemma, if we look at many k-dramas for example - they are written to have just one season - they normally finish their plotlines and although they could have more seasons, they mostly don't. It doesn't stop people wanting more but people have
