Excellent list of the risks associates with the new age of AI.

I've heard many people say many AI risks are theoretical so I summarized a (version 0.1) laundry risk of AI risks from the likely and near-term to the less certain - pls lmk ones I missed! #aisafety tinyurl.com/2s4ku4vt

Google doesn't do well with many temporal sports queries. Here is the response to "When was the last time the Boston Celtics won the NBA Championship?" While it was great that we beat the Heat to go to the finals, we lost to the Warriors in the finals. cc:

Another draft of an blurb from Bard. I like the presence of the attribution link. However: given that the race car driver Danny Sullivan is also famous the optimal process should ask me a question to clarify who I mean, or provide information on both.

Tried to use Bard for content gap identification, but it declined to take the task on. ChatGPT does this task pretty well (but not perfectly).

Another Bard example. This one has a factual error in it: "but it was eventually sunk by a British torpedo strike," which is not accurate. Also interesting that it offered three different drafts. Like that feature!

First test result for Bard, tested the query "who is danny sullivan" (fyi:). I have seen similar problems with other people as well. Illustrates one of the core challenges with LLMs, as they tend to be 1M miles wide and an inch deep.

The new ChatGPT (based on GPT-4) still struggles with how/when to avoid bias. Here it's perfectly happy to tell a joke about men, but won't tell one about women.

These are all examples of one of the big challenges with AI, which is that it has no real model of the world and no innate understanding of value judgments. These can be "programmed in", but who makes the call on what the right values are?

Something I've never seen before. Google is testing "Any duration" an options submenu when you click "Tools" on your search. I use the "Any time" feature a lot because Google doesn't recognize football player injuries as a temporal query.
