I think we should hold folks to a higher standard that we agree with MORE than we should those we disagree with. This is what has turned the Republican Party into what it is today. They let their hatred define them. They allowed their standard to plummet because of their hate.

So, bringing up everything that trump and his supporters have done to condone what she said is doing nothing more than moving the standard farther away from where it should be, or completely removing any standard to hold to.
-
"Standard"?? What standard? Yours, mine or someone else's? There is no set standard, or hadn't you noticed?
-
If there is no standard how do we know that trump’s behavior on twitter is repulsive? Is there is no standard how do we know that its disgusting when a president mocks people? If standards are all relative why do we care about anything?Seems we only hold the other side to them.

There is only opinions. The populace does not ever agree fully to anything. Some agree to "this" and some agree to "that". It's all opinion and completely subjective. That's the way it is.
-
But there is an underlying expectation that most share, and that is how we are able to identify an anomaly like trump. If there wasn’t then he would just be another politician, but it’s obvious he is not. The comment from the congresswoman would have been unacceptable pre-trump..

You've been attempting to tone police my timeline for going on 7 hours. I'd think by now you'd get that we're not having any of that. You're worried about a woman using profanity while fascism is marching in the streets. Frankly, if you're not swearing, you're the problem.https://twitter.com/TupeloJason/status/1081303554789396480 …

Man, that’s not it. You are not getting me, or I’m not conveying myself properly, but either way I bow out. I can’t, nor want to compete with your twitter muscle. I just have a different opinion on ONE thing. We more than likely agree on most everything else.

I'm beginning to think it's not about the words.

Not to mention the many things Trump has said himself in direct quotes. They’ll try anything to enforce “civility” on dem women, but when Rs say “no-no words” it’s just “locker room talk” and “telling it like it is.”
-
Or all the times they cry when racists lose their jobs because of viral videos as the Lauras and Tuckers whine about “whatever happened to free speech?” They are hypocrites for clutching pearls after defending Trump for two years.

A bit nerdy here, but: I know "impeach the motherfucker" sounds bad, but it's quite better than "Lock Her Up". At least the demand for impeachment suggests due process through House and Senate, whereas "Lock Her Up" pretty much ignores due process for political gain. Hmm.
Thanks. Twitter will use this info to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

It's so scary when women, especially brown ones, act like they're people.

That's the one.

One day I hope that some media outlets track down those people, and ask them "was it worth it?"
-
I'm betting that their answer would be "Yes".
