Perhaps the focus should simply be...equality. We should be creating new ‘histories’ based on equal representation not biased, male, views. The painting has value but an old value which the 21century should be leaving behind!
Removing art due to political concerns is exactly censorship, regardless of the gallery's protestation to the contrary. All art has a place in history but we don’t keep everything produced on display...times move & art is stored to enable study, thought, an airing, in the future...perhaps
