    Federal and IL FOIA and MO Sunshine laws must be strengthened, as should all open records

    Since it’s , I’ll share one of the most absurd FOIA responses DHS has provided. Here, they searched for records, determined which office would have the records, and forwarded it to themselves *at the same address*.

    Baltimore rejects Persistent Surveillance Systems spyplanes for second time after promised results not delivered and noisy planes flew lower than promised, increasing the resolution of images in contraction to a core talking company talking point. Every city rejected over 10 yrs.

    The aerial surveillance planes that have been flying over the skies of Baltimore will stop operating after Saturday, according to city police officials.

    Occupy, Ferguson uprising, West Lake Landfill protest, Stockley verdict, to present — we’ve seen the state leverage police, tear gas, brutality, arrests, detainment & prosecution to unjustly target, harm & attempt to dissuade people from engaging in their basic rights to protest.

    The Rev. Darryl Gray was pepper sprayed, body slammed and arrested during the Stockley protests. Three years later, the city is still trying to make him pay.

    We could have one of the first, but St. Louis will be joining the future by bringing sunlight and oversight to secretive surveillance by passing Board Bill 95 . STL wants to build itself as tech bub then it must join other hubs where they understand promise and peril of tech

    These jurisdictions have adopted Community Control Over Police Surveillance (CCOPS) laws, ensuring public & elected officials are informed & have a major role in deciding if & how gov't surveillance tech is acquired & deployed You’re up Detroit (“CIOGS Act”) & St. Louis (BB 95)!

    Missouri, absentee ballots - the ones requiring an excuse - can be dropped off in person. No-excuse mail-in ballots cannot. Voters who still have those should bring them to the polls on election day or to their election authority to vote absentee.
