@stjepang I just realized something that in retrospect is very obvious: hypothetically the `schedule` function in `spawn` could be pretty complicated, in terms of picking a queue, waiting in the event of a "sleep" future, etc. It can have logic and stuff.

Yeah, a spawned task is essentially a state machine that can be in states like idle, scheduled, completed, or running. It's not complicated per se, but it gets really ugly when every extra allocation is removed and join handles are supported.
