There's no way to prove that it does or doesn't belong to the shooter but #resistance twitter is running wild in celebration that a mass shooter wasn't one of them. Does it matter?
The post wasn't political, it was to point out that the shooter wasn't motivated by politics.
The truth matters. Shouldn't a journalist be a bit more careful about spreading rumours he reads online as though they were fact, and then saying, "Well, nobody can say for sure if it's really true or not"? Isn't verifying that in some way your responsibility as a journalist?
