Besides, the memes are funny. Depriving us of Alex Jones moments should be a crime.

It seems you've gotten your impression of "his views on Sandy Hook" from those out to slander him by repeating accusations not based in reality, FYI.
-
He called them crisis actors.
-
Do you have a link to a clip where he said that, or did you read that somewhere? Also, that is pretty clearly NOT his position now.
-
If a lie is repeated often enough, people will believe it to be true.
-
It is worth noting that when such allegations are challenged, the person making the accusation never can back up their statement.

He does have a right to speak. But that right doesn't extend to private companies that fuel his false and dangerous claims
-
with how much power social media companies have on speech and the internet are they really private companies anymore
-
They should be public utilities. Like telephones.
-
I agree, the idea of a phone company banning Alex Jones would be seen as crazy. I remember the whole cake thing, so if its fine to boot alex jones of youtube would it also be fine for youtube to boot gay people off
-
No, because there are discrimination laws that don't apply to politics.
-
Then how about left-wing crazy conspiracy theorists like Shawn King or Tariq Nasheed? If this is the way it’s gonna be you can’t ban one guy and let 15 others do the same thing, where will it end.
-
This is always the case. We should ban them too.

does the right to free speech come with a responsibility to be honest (or not knowingly lie)?
-
Who is going to be the judge of that?
-
Jones made false claims that the 2012 Sandy Hook massacre at the elementary school that killed 26 people was a hoax.
-
But who’s going to judge if it was a lie? It’s highly possible that he actually believes this...
-
...and because of him so do a lot of other people.
-
I think this is the issue, where are you going to draw the line between such "clear lies" and what you believe to be true, how are you going to challenge nonsense/people who believe it if they are not allowed to express it, and do you think censorship will make it go away?)
-
Well put. If the ignorant are censored for their ignorance, they only continue to live in ignorance. Without that, there exists opportunity to educate the ignorant in fact vs. opinion and what is factually correct.
