We keep losing live performance venues in San Francisco. Here's my quick count of places that had live comedy that folded in the recent past: Hemlock, Dark Room, Doc's Lab, Lost Weekend, Brainwash. I'm sure I'm forgetting some. I'm sad about it. This is a civic problem. 1/

Hey so climate change sure looks scary today but I’m curious: maybe y’all thought that no matter what, humanity was always going to end within the next...

Self-driving cars discourse: trolley problem wankery. In practice: * 1.3s before impact, the system determined that an emergency braking maneuver was needed * Emergency braking maneuvers are not enabled * The system is not designed to alert the operator

Hey everyone don’t you think it’s pretty cool that uses these carbon-emitting, space-hogging trucks 100% just to advertise? I think it’s awesome so I made this cool pic to help spread the word please RT

Great thread on why there are more and more big trucks and SUVs on the streets these days, despite their danger to anyone outside of them

It’s often bad but today was extreme - cars blocking pretty much all crosswalks and intersections along 2nd from brannan to folsom, honking continuously... maybe having a couple of officers in the area around 5pm could help, no?

Obviously this is false though? You can still hop in a room to whiteboard something, have lunch together, hang out after work... Remote work is great but I keep seeing these grossly simplistic takes that remind me of the “soylent is the only food you need” b.s.

Hi Construction setting up on Gough&Hayes now: looks like crosswalk on hayes will be blocked, so people crossing there will need to also cross gough twice. It’s a long light and a very busy ped intersection. Would send someone to tweak this (plenty of room) b4 it gets busy

If you *have* to collect trash in the middle of the night, maybe don’t use the most ridiculous trucks and bins in all of mankind, so that the entire block doesn’t get woken up every time – at Hayes Valley Bakeworks
