Trump is so authentic he champions working class interests from his expensive Florida beach club where wealthy businessmen with interests before the government pay him cash in exchange for policy favors.

  6. Remember what it was like to have a mature, culturally aware adult in the White House? Obama's favorite books and music of 2017.

  7. What film that you should have seen long ago did you see in 2017 and love? For me, it was Terrence Malick's "Badlands." OMG! Martin Sheen and Sissy Spacek were so good they were uncanny, and the photography was sublime. Up there with "Night of the Hunter" for American darkness.

  9. Topics I'd love to hear less about in 2018: 1. Bitcoin. 2. How Trump's loyal base feels about literally anything. 3. Instant pot and/or avocado toast. 4. How calling someone a Nazi is as bad as being one. 5. Cake bakers' "religious freedom" to discriminate against gay couples.

It's worth noting that before Trump, any national figure who said this would have been exiled from political life for good. Now it's just standard operating procedure, another shrug in the face of blatant fascism.

Spoiler: it's a study of tweets from 2012, so Kids These Days have probably completely redefined the language since then, but there's a clear pattern of media fandom terms co-occurring more with “geek” and academic terms more with “nerd”.

  18. To be specific, the luminous jam I was talking about tonight was out of "Steam" and into "Light." Worth checking out for fans of "Space."
