Re: op-ed
-I think it’s misguided & harmful to the perception of Asian Americans
-I do think he was well-intentioned in encouraging engagement
-I hope he digs in & listens to the community
-I empathize but am sad/frustrated with Twitter’s visceral reactionary culture

You must have overlooked the part where he said Asians need to "do more" (as if we weren't doing enough before to deserve to exist?), and dress red white and blue.
You a troll or just as delusional as Yang to not see through that BS?

You should definitely be on the podcast and talk about AAPI leadership!

Andrew is about “humanity” first, not Asian first. We’ve take a back seat and his essay is telling us to get over ourselves. Not very encouraging.

That's my understanding as well. About the encouraging to engage in the community part. I am sure he will think and speak on it. I think the American-ness part enraged many which I don't blame them. If they are going to crucify or stop supporting Yang in the future so be it.

Yep, it's Yang encouraging us to be leaders in our community.
The best thing we can do right now, is to help our neighbors and be good people.

Very interesting these SJW Asians were silent when the liberal media was giving him racist treatment.

Here's where he gets Cathy Newmanned. The reading is that Andrew thinks Asian Americans have to prove their loyalty to Americanness.
That's not what he's saying.
He's saying that it *helps* change the circumstances in which racism flourishes.
