And how feeling unsafe is actually something we want to avoid at the cost of expelling other people? There is no value in constantly feeling "safe".

Because we are further excluding already excluded people by not taking their safety concerns seriously.

Thought you may. I will remain unconvinced if you allow. The argumentation for the safetyism above all is deeply flawed and dangerous in my opinion.

So, here’s your bias: " There is no value in constantly feeling "safe”.”. You assume that, outside of this conference, the others involved are generally safe. I think you know that to be untrue. Now look at John & Charles. Are they generally safe? Probably more so.

If all parties involved here are generally safe, as you assert, then yeah I _might_ have a problem with this whole situation. Maybe. But as of now, it’s extremely asymmetrical.

We are all pretty safe in developed world, in fact the more developed world the more safe members of minorities are. Your arguments are based on the idea of power balance and concept of someone more "powerful" making someone less powerful "unsafe".

Do you think *I* have ever received any ill-intentioned message? Never. Not a single one. I doubt you have either.

Receiving death and rape threats isn’t safety. “But it’s online so it’s just words” is a weak excuse. You can’t gamble with this stuff.
