Hi!, there is your unroll: Thread by @steve_asbell: The autism spectrum isn’t a scale ranging from ‘a little autistic’ to ‘really autistic’.… https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1223428157434449921.html …. Talk to you soon.
Thank you. I am sad right now because being a “professional” is getting in the way of me being able to bring my best self AND contribute in ways we really, really need, because our society doesn’t understand that in order to -make- a difference we need to BE different.
I don't think people ever meant ill when they said "on the spectrum." (Well, I suppose they could have.) It might have just been the best explanation they had at the time.
If it's not a good descriptor than does everyone concerned agree that we should have people start saying "all over the spectrum" instead? And if we do do we also agree that sometime down the road we won't say that "all over the spectrum" is a poor descriptor?
I like this more. I hate that phrasing for some reason.
Thank you! I can pass as neurotypical for a few hours. But it costs me so much. People always call me high functioning. And I actually always treated it as a compliment cause I could pass. Only recently I am starting to mask less.
"We ARE the spectrum." Perfect.
Wonderful

awesome thread, thank you
