Software design thought for the day: just because two elements are *connected* that doesn’t mean they are *coupled*. Reducing connection isn’t an effective goal. Reducing actual coupling (where changing one element necessitates changing another) is.

Yes! And even when coupled, the type of change matters. For example - can the change be made by tools, or do humans need to do it?

Aren’t we coupled to the tooling then? The IDE in most cases. Not everyone would be using the same kind of tooling on a large team. IMO I feel safer to stick with Kent’s line. :)
